Hello, welcome to Gooey. My name is Michelle, I’m originally from Belgium and I LOVE food. It all started with helping my mom bake cakes as a kid. She taught me all kinds of recipes, and soon enough, I was in the kitchen all the time and baking became my passion. Later on, I started travelling and discovering food cultures from all over the world, which fuelled my interest in cooking, even more than baking. After trying lots of dishes, preparing them for friends and family, and constantly being asked how I made them, I realised it would be a good idea to put them all together. The first part of Gooey was born: the food blog. The second part, being the wine pairings, comes from my other passion in life; winemaking. I have been working in the wine production industry for years now and as soon as I started this line of work I have been interested in how to pair this heavenly juice with different foods. The concept of food and wine pairing is a true form of art and it became my personal outlet of creativity.
